Started in May, 1966 as a singles square dance club, Swingin' Singles, in the Brookside area of Kansas City. It quickly became the go to place for any single square dancers in the area. In 1982, the club added round dancing with a cuer. Pre-Covid, the club peaked at 140 members and the growth eventually had us move halls a few times until we got to our current dance hall, Shawnee Town Hall in Shawnee KS. In 2019 the club became the first 501(c)3 charter club of United Square Dancers of America (USDA) and changed our name to Heartland Squares.

We are all inclusive and welcome families, singles & couples. We do mainstream, plus, line dancing and round dancing and welcome all new members.

Our Club dances are on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays from 7pm-9:30pm.
